📖 We're a small studio with a soft spot for the quiet moment after the last page — when a book is done and earns its place on the shelf. SpinyWiny started from one question: what if a reading log felt less like a spreadsheet and more like a keepsake? So we built a calm, unhurried place to remember every book you finish.

Each book you complete becomes a hand-drawn spine that slides onto a virtual shelf, so a year of reading grows into a tactile, browsable collection instead of a list you forget you ever made. SpinyWiny is built on a single, stubborn principle: the app does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data to us or to anyone else. Everything you create lives on your device and stays there. Here's exactly what that means.
01 Information We Collect
Nothing. SpinyWiny has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location. We don't fingerprint your device, and we run no analytics or usage tracking. The book details you enter — titles, authors, finish dates, ratings, and your one-line impressions — are created and held entirely on your device and never reach us.
02 How We Use Information
Since we never receive your information, we can't and don't use it. We don't analyze your reading habits, profile you, sell data, or share it with advertisers or partners. Every feature — adding books, rating them, drawing spines, and browsing your shelf by year, author, or rating — runs locally on your device with no server in the loop.
03 Data Storage
Your shelf is stored only in SpinyWiny's local storage on your device. There is no cloud sync, no remote backup, and no copy of your library sitting on our servers — because we don't operate servers that hold your content. If your device stays offline forever, the app works exactly the same.
04 Third-Party Services
SpinyWiny contains no third-party analytics, no advertising networks, no trackers, and no embedded marketing SDKs. We don't load remote content to build your shelf, and nothing about your reading is handed off to an outside service.
05 Data Security
Because your data never leaves your device, the most common privacy risks — interception in transit, server breaches, leaked databases — simply don't apply. Your library is protected by your device's own security: lock screen, encryption, and access controls. We keep the app's footprint small and its behavior local to minimize exposure.
06 Children's Privacy
SpinyWiny does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app gathers no data from any user at all, it is inherently compliant with COPPA and similar protections for young readers.
07 Your Control
You are fully in charge of your information. You can add, edit, or remove any book at any time. To erase everything at once, simply delete the app — because there are no external accounts or backups, removing SpinyWiny removes your entire library permanently. There is no "recover my data" step on our end, because there's no copy to recover.
08 Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this policy, we'll revise the Effective Date above so the change is easy to spot. Any future version will keep the same core promise: SpinyWiny stays local, private, and quiet.
